Israeli forces today detained two Palestinians and targeted farmers in the besieged Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent. He said that the soldiers, stationed behind the border fence, east of Khan Younis in the southern coastal enclave, rounded up two young men purportedly for approaching the fence. Meanwhile, the soldiers deployed in military towers and along the border fence, east of al-Bureij and al-Maghazi refugee camps in the central strip, opened fire towards groups of farmers who attempted to access their land, forcing them to flee for their safety. Two million Palestinians live the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a punishing and crippling Israeli blockade for 12 years and repeated onslaughts that have heavily damaged much of the enclave’s infrastructure.
