The Israeli occupation authorities detained 448 Palestinians in February, including 71 minors and 10 women, today said prisoners’ advocacy groups. They said in their monthly report on the Palestinian freedom fighters held in Israeli jails that the highest number of arrests were in occupied East Jerusalem where 166 Palestinians were detained in February, including 56 minors. It also said that 107 orders of the internationally-banned administrative detention were issued in February against Palestinian activists, including 32 new ones and 75 renewal of existing orders. The groups, that included the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, the Palestinian Prisoner Society, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center, said Israel is currently holding 4400 Palestinians in its jails, including 33 women, 160 minors, and 490 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.
