Israeli occupation forces today and last night detained at least 13 Palestinians from various parts of the occupied territories, according to local and Palestinian security sources. They said that Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking the houses of their families in al-Bireh city neighborhood of Um al-Sharayet. The soldiers violently dispersed local young men protesting the raid using live ammunition and tear gas canisters, sparking confrontations and injuring one with a live round in the abdomen, who was taken to hospital for treatment. The sources said that a driver of an ambulance was detained from Silwad town, east of Ramallah. In the northern West Bank, soldiers barged into Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, and arrested two former prisoners before ultimately releasing one of them. They also showed up at a house in Beita, a town that has become a scene of weekly rallies to protest Israeli settler-colonialism and pillage of Palestinian land, muscled inside, conducted a thorough search and ultimately detained another. Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, the soldiers forcibly entered two houses in Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, woke up all the residents, ransacked the houses and arrested two former prisoners. In the southern West Bank, the sources confirmed a raid in al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, leading to the detention of two others. The soldiers conducted a similar raid in the Hebron city neighborhood of Jabal Abu Rumman, resulting in the detention of a minor. In Bethlehem district, the military vehicles stormed Ubeidiya town, east of Bethlehem city, where the soldiers rounded up a father of a family as a means to coerce his son, a former prisoner, into turning himself to the army. Two others were detained from Fasayil village, northwest of Jericho.
